Deluxe Room
Our Deluxe Rooms are spacious and luxuriously decorated in cottons and silks. With an inner courtyard view, the rooms are 39 square metres in size and offer double or twin beds, comfortably accommodating 2 people with an extra bed available for a third. The room features a sitting area with writing desk, minibar and internet connection. The bathroom with under-floor heating has a large terrazzo bath.
Deluxe Garden View Located throughout The Governors Residence on all floors, our Deluxe Garden View Rooms have stunning views of our private lotus garden, towering trees and free-form pool. Decorated with luxurious tropical cottons and silks, these rooms are 39 square metres in size and offer double or twin beds.
Also provided in your room is a sitting area with writing desk, minibar and internet connection. The large marble bathroom has underfloor heating.
Governor's Rooms The Governor's Rooms have been newly renovated according to a concept that combines traditional materials and motifs with modern luxury. Teak and silk are used lavishly throughout the rooms, while typical Burmese patterns have been worked into a contemporary design. Furthermore, hi-tech conveniences such as flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi Internet access are included in the room amenities.
The bed space, either king-size or twin queen-size, is distinguished by a canopy in carved teakwood, while a silk shade screen at the foot of the bed adds a feeling of privacy. Other room facilities include a writing desk, a 26-inch LCD TV screen and a minibar. Each Governor’s Room has an en-suite bathroom with double sinks and a large walk-in shower, hidden behind ornate double doors decorated with silk panels and elaborate Burmese woodcarvings.
Junior Suites Rooms Our Junior Suites are beautifully decorated in tropical cottons and silks and overlook the private lotus garden, towering trees and free-form pool.
The suites are 48 sqm is size and offer one bedroom with a double bed and a large living room space. The large bathroom features a free-form terrazzo bath.
In-room facilities include a well stocked mini-bar, satellite TV, IDD telephone, safe deposit box, individual air conditioning control, smoke detector, 220 volts electricity and a hair dryer.
Restauranr Burmese food culture is based on sharing with monks, to whom many of the Buddhist Myanmar offer food on daily basis.
Mandalay Restaurant The Mandalay Restaurant, the main restaurant at The Governor's Residence, is located in the original part of this former Residence of the Kaya Governor, overlooking the private garden and serves delicious Asian and European cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Mindon Lounge The open air colonial-style Mindon Lounge is perfect for evening relaxation and overlooks the beautiful green ceramic pool and gardens. This palatial room exudes comfort and the delightful shady garden area entices guests to sample the exotic delicacies of Myanmar in the wonderful outdoor surroundings.
Kipling Bar Named after the countries most celebrated advocate, the Kipling bar offers a relaxing atmosphere and a chance to reflect on somewhere ‘quite unlike any land you know'.
The Kipling Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional long iced drink, a local beer or something more indulgent!
The Bar is open between 07.00am and 11.00pm and serves light refreshments and drinks.
