|Cambodia is a country of contrasts, home to a vast array of ornate temples along with some of the finest beaches in South East Asia. On this magnificent voyage to what was formerly known as Kampuchea, you will visit some of Cambodia´s most magnificent temples, the fabled Angkor structures, including Angkor Wat, the largest religious structure in the world. Built for King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as his state temple and capital city, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation—first Hindu, dedicated to Vishnu, then Buddhist. The temple is the epitome of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. But Cambodia has far more to offer than just temples and so the second half of this tour offers a vehicle and guide at your disposal with a host of suggested activities, from visiting local villages to cruising on the Mekong River, allowing you to tailor your holiday exactly as you would wish. The final part of the tour will allow you to relax in Cambodia´s most famous beach resort.
